Interview Translation
When do you usually feel envy?
Since I was a kid, I couldn’t have everything because I grew up in a family that wasn’t too well off, and my parents worked in another country just to provide for us.
There was a time I wished they were here to attend our graduation.
Take us through what it was like creating the track, ‘envy.’
It was easy because I could already visualize in my mind what kind of song. What it would be like.
First, we created the beat, then just mumbling the studio booth. After that we chopped it up and put it together.
Pick your favorite line from the song and tell us why it strikes you the most.
“I don’t care about yo’ feelings.”
As long as I stay genuine to myself. I know myself best. So I don’t care what other people say about me.
‘envy’ Official Music Video
In interviews, Felip mentioned drawing inspiration from anime for the visual elements of “envy’s” official music video. On a broader thematic context, it touches on medieval and medieval fantasy imagery, crucial touch points to the historical origins of the seven deadly sins. It then takes us into modern times, and shows how envy still impacts the human soul.
