DOUGBROCK Radio Episode #89 Part 9 – Closing Thoughts

Dougbrock: What’s your message, bro, to all the people who, ever since- Wait no! This first, real quick. Of course the hate isn’t going to disappear. How does Ken/Felip handle the hate?

Felip: Hmm… I make music out of it.

Dougbrock: Okay, you still use it as inspiration, huh? So you reframe it?

Felip: Yes, it’s still an inspiration to me. It appears that I become more creative due to what I receive, whether positive or negative; I become creative, so to speak. I mean, I don’t have time to feel down.

Like what I said in ROCKSTA, I don’t have time to be disappointed in myself.

Dougbrock: You have to pick yourself up, right? It’s so cool, bro, because you were able to reframe it that way, creatively, and at the same time, it even became an inspiration— you acknowledge it, but you don’t let it affect you. That’s- I respect that.

Now, bro, I’ll quickly ask: What can you say to the people who have been supporting you ever since? Do you have any fans from before SB19? Like childhood friends? Past group mates? Far away cousins who are rooting for you?

Felip: Yes, I have some of those.

Dougbrock: What can you say to those? And to all who believed in the beginning before all the virality and success? What’s your message to them?

Felip: Firstly, I want to express my gratitude because from day one, they’ve been there for us until now, never faltering in their support. Whatever happened, despite the challenges we’ve faced, they’ve remained strong for us. So they’ve also been a pillar of strength for us to continue. They act as the thread that holds us. To keep us together.

Dougbrock: To stay together.

Felip: Yeah, to stay together. We’re still here because of them. So thanks so much to you all. I hope that you will continue to stand by us even as we age. There may come a time when we part ways, but I can assure you, in the years leading up to that inevitable moment, we will remain as a group. We are each other’s sources of inspiration.

Even if we’re doing solos, it’s for us to grow as an individual, and not because- I’ve read some [posts] wondering about my intentions, speculating that I’ve abandoned SB19 to pursue a solo career. That’s not the case. I will always be an SB19 member, even in my twilight years. I cherish my group and my brothers dearly, and I’m committed to staying with them.

And of course, for our fans too. I don’t want to disappoint them. You have nothing to worry about. And we’re always here for you.

Dougbrock: That’s really nice.

[What’s] your message to your family? To your mom and dad, and of course to the grandparents who took care of you when your parents weren’t around. I know they’re proud of you. What can you tell them? Because years from now, we’ll come back to this conversation, right? When you have a baby, a family, you’ll watch this.

Felip: First, to my father, thank you so much. You’re the best dad in the world. You are truly the kindest dad. It’s a blessing for me to have you. Even when you’re far, I know you’re doing it for us. You did everything you could to support us. You haven’t failed to steer us back to the right path whenever we stray. You are always there to remind us.

And to my mom, thank you so much mom! I know you have a lot to say, but I know that you know what’s best for us. So thank you so much for raising us right. Even though you and dad were far away, thank you so much for everything. I know you’re happy that I’m at this stage in my life where I have reached my dreams. I am here for you always and I love you so much.

And to my older sister, thank you so much! Even though we used to always fight in the past, I understand it’s a natural part of growing up as siblings, especially with our close ages. There were times when we didn’t see eye to eye, but that’s all right! I love you!

And to my aunt who let me live with her back then, thank you so much. I love you! And to my uncle, thank you so much!

To all my family, many thanks! You say you’re proud of me, thank you so much because you witnessed that I was able to endure.

Because they know how hard our life was. They said, “It seems like nothing is happening, maybe you should just work.” So I said, “Let’s give it a chance.” and you guys accepted it, so thank you so much because you still believed in me. You continued to believe. And yeah.

Also thank you to God, because I reached something like this.

Dougbrock: Thanks so much to all of you. To all of those who have supported Ken, and who believed in Ken/Felip. It’s amazing. Because, that’s what it is, you know? 10 years ago, your life was different, right?

Felip: Yes yes, so so different.

Dougbrock: 360, it changed, huh? Wow. And I think you deserve it because you’re humble. You deserve it because you’re true.

Felip: Sometimes I’m arrogant.

Dougbrock: Arrogance is different from confidence, bro! You guys know when someone’s talking about anything like shoes or cars, and then another person suddenly brags, “Cars? Well I have that.” Like that! No one was even asking. That arrogance is different from the arrogance you need to have in order to be unique and stand out. Because you know they’re accepting just one more, and maybe that’s what they’re looking for.

But that’s- “I just really am the best person here.” And sometimes you have to be like that because no one’s gonna take care of your name, but you. So always always put yourself first, and always believe in yourself. Because when we feel down, only we can make ourselves rise again.

So we always need to believe in ourselves, right? Bro, what’s your message  to all the new artists, dreamers? Message to those who like art, music, singing, and dancing. What’s your message? As an artist, of course.

Felip: Take the risk. Be brave. If you really like it, then go through with it. Whatever people say, even if they tie you to this mentality. No. If you can escape that, then do it. Because that’s what I did, and it worked for myself. And I think it will work for you too.

Dougbrock: Wow. So solid. Guys, be brave. Take the risk. I learned [a lot from] this episode, but one of the biggest takeaways for me is, you really need to believe in yourself. Because even when everyone else is doubting you, if you believe in yourself, you’ll be able to keep going. Even if they all believe, if you [yourself] don’t believe you can do it, nothing will happen.

Thank you so much. Hopefully you guys enjoyed [it]. Hopefully you found some value in this episode. For me, I realized so many things today. So many things I realized. It’s so hard to sleep without a roof when it’s raining.

And sometimes, yes! Now it’s fun, right? But imagine that. On that day, you didn’t know what would happen tomorrow or when the rain would stop. But you needed to do it, because that’s all that you had.

Guys, let’s just always do better. Just always give our best. And also never forget to enjoy. Hopefully you guys enjoyed [it]!

Bro, where can they hear you, where can they watch you? Your social media, where can they find you?

Felip: So yeah, so for all my social media, just search for @felipsuperior if you don’t know me. And if you want to get to know me more, [still] just search @felipsuperior to keep you updated.
