Felip Talks About His Single ‘Fake Faces’
Interview Highlights:
2:10 Exciting experience while making “Fake Faces”
Felip shares how honored he was to have worked on “Fake Faces” with international producers Hyuk Shin and Seann Bowe. Despite the pressure, he was mainly excited and grateful for the opportunity as it helped broaden his knowledge in music.
3:19 What makes it different from his previous works
He states that it’s his first time to make an upbeat, happy and vibey song with sad lyrics. With its energetic instrumental as opposed to its message, “Fakes Faces” is unlike its antecedent single “Kanako” which has a metal rock touch with a sad melody. Ultimately, it’s not hip-hop focused as his previous works.
4:35 The biggest challenge
He thinks that the biggest challenge was the recording process itself. With a three-day schedule in Malaysia, they worked on the beat and wrote the lyrics just the day before recording the song. He goes candid about having a hard time in the booth as he was not fully familiar with the melody yet, given how fast-paced the process was. They successfully finished the song in two days. The interviewer adds that even if the preparation was quick, it still gave good results.
Felip also mentions how “Fake Faces” has made his discography more diverse genre-wise. Overall, he thinks that it was a great learning experience and opportunity for him.
6:30 What’s next, message to Indonesian fans
Felip announces that his debut album (now revealed as 7sins) will be out on July 5. He assures that it’s something he worked really hard for and the kind of music he enjoys listening to. He then expresses gratitude to Indonesian fans for the support he’s been receiving, as well as the motivation and inspiration to continue creating music.
